This spaghetti bolognese recipe is a family favourite - it's rich and satisfying, with a delicious hint of cinnamon.
In a deep pan heat the olive oil, add the ground beef and sauté for about 7 minutes in high heat until it’s mostly browned.
Next, add the grated onion, garlic and carrot. Allow them to sauté for an additional 4 minutes.
Continue by adding the red wine and simmer for a few minutes until the alcohol evaporates.
Add the canned tomatoes, tomato puree, chicken broth, cinnamon, salt and pepper. Stir it before leaving it to simmer on low heat for 30 minutes.
To cook the pasta, fill a large pot with boiling water. Add salt to taste, then add the pasta and let it cook according to package instructions.
Once the pasta is finished cooking, drain it and mix with 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Serve the spaghetti with a few spoonfuls of Bolognese sauce and a generous amount of grated parmesan.
