Your favourite Greek bakery delight. A delicious, flaky pie with ham and cheese baked in puff pastry.
In a small pot add the olive oil and sauté a chopped onion for 2 minutes in low heat.
Add a chopped bell pepper and sauté for 2 more minutes.
Continue by adding the tomato sauce, water, salt, pepper and oregano. Let the sauce simmer for 8 minutes and then set aside to cool.
Oil the bottom and the sides of a baking tray.
Place the puff pastry sheet in the baking tray and stretch its sides a bit so that it can fold over the second sheet.
Spread plenty of tomato sauce over the puff pastry.
Add one layer of gouda cheese and a second one with ham.
Place the second sheet of puff pastry on the top and merge the two pastry sheets to seal the ham and cheese inside by using a fork.
Using a fork, poke holes to the pie so that it doesn’t puff up while baking.
Brush everything with egg wash.
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350ºF) for 30-40minutes.
