Want to know the ultimate comfort food for dark and dreary winter days? This Greek pasta pie ticks all the boxes.
Bring water to a boil in a large pot, add salt and cook the pasta according to their package directions.
Drain the pasta, add them in a large bowl and mix them with the butter.
In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, milk, sugar, salt and pepper and pour the mixture over the pasta.
Cut the feta cheese in small cubes and mix them with the pasta (do not over-mix).
Brush a deep baking tray with olive oil and make sure the sides are also well oiled.
Line the baking tray with 3 sheets of filo pastry and brush each one with olive oil.
Add all the pasta mixture in the baking tray and spread it out evenly.
Fold the excess filo inwards and brush the edges with olive oil.
Add the remaining 2 sheets of filo pastry (wrinkled) and brush each one with olive oil.
Slice the pasta pie into portion-size pieces (just the top filo layers), and bake in a preheated oven at 180ºC (350ºF) for 50 minutes.
