step 1

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add salt and cook the pasta according to the package directions in order to ensure it is properly cooked.

step 2

Drain the pasta, add it to a large mixing bowl, and stir in the butter.

step 3

In a different bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, salt and pepper. Then pour this mixture over the pasta.

step 4

Cut the feta cheese into small cubes, then mix them lightly with the pasta. Be careful not to over-mix.

step 5

Brush a deep baking tray with olive oil, ensuring that the sides are coated as well.

step 6

Line the baking tray with 3 sheets of filo pastry. Coat each sheet lightly with olive oil using a brush.

step 7

Pour the contents of the pasta bowl onto the baking tray, and spread it out so that it covers the entire surface.

step 8

Brush the edges of the filo with olive oil, then fold it inwards to make a neat packet.

step 9

Add the remaining 2 sheets of filo pastry (wrinkled) and brush each one with olive oil.

step 10

Preheat your oven to 180ºC (350ºF), then cut the pasta pie into servings (just the top filo layers) and bake for 50 minutes.
